Assemblies:
Arrange and schedule periodic assemblies for SRMS in cooperation with the administration and teachers.
8th Grade Class Happenings & Promotion Committee
Communicate and organize 8th grade social events and the June Promotion Ceremony. Promotion involves ordering flowers and balloons; organizing 7th grade volunteers; as well as cleaning up after the promotion.

Communication Committee
Produce and manage all SRMS PTO communications through the newsletter, media, publicity and web site.

Craft Fair Committee
Organize, run and publicize the annual fall PTO Craft Fair. Work for this event begins in May with the solicitation of craft and other vendors. Work continues up to the event and ends with the clean up after the fair itself.
Directory/Membership Committee
The Directory portion involves collecting parental permission slips for PTO Membership, adding student information to the database, and creating a master list for the printer. Other tasks could include telephoning parents if information collected is incorrect or illegible, as well as proofing the master list or final product.The Membersjip portion involves collecting membership dues, distributing directory, and managing the school store supply of extra copies.

Fun Activities Committee
Organize and run all fun, social activities by grade.

E-Script Program
Publicize, organize and be a point of contact for the E-script program. Money is currently raised through Genuardi program only, but PTO is looking to expand this money raising opportunity with other stores.
Helping Hands Committee
Helping Hands sends out a one-time dinner gift certificate for pre-made dinners at Shop-N-Bag to families who are dealing with illnesses. Please contact the guidance counselor and nurse to identify to them families in need.
Hospitality/Teacher Appreciation Committee
Hospitality involves planning refreshments for PTO meetings and board meetings. Tecaher Appreciation involves organizing a breakfast and luncheon for SRMS staff relying mainly of food donations from parents.
Library Committee
This committee works with the librarian and library secretary to coordinate and organize parent volunteers on an as-needed basis for activities such as the Book Fair and end of year inventory.
Monthly Mailing Committee
This committee is responsible for the school mailingd the last two weeks in August and the monthly distribution of the PTO/SRMS packets that are sent home the last week of the month.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee is responsible for finding suitable board members/committee chairs for the coming school year. The slate is presented at the April PTO meeting and voted on at the May PTO meeting.

PT Council
This committee consists of one representative from each school and the PT Council executive board. They act as liaison between their school and the superintendent. PT Council activities have included hosting a district-wide information/planning meeting of community members, assisting the league of Women Voters in setting up a forum of local political candidates; as well as an informational exchange between school board members and high school students. All money raised by the council are used to give scholarships to UD seniors who would otherwise not be recognized.

Red Cross Blood Drive
Act as contact and liaison for the SRMS Bllod Drive and SRMS PTO.
School Board
Act as liaison with UD School Board and the PTO at SRMS. Report back to PTO on School Board meetings and provide updates for the monthly SRMS PTO Newsletter. This committee is required to have a member attend or watch all monthly legislative school board meetings held the second Monday of each month or publicized on Channell 22.
School Plays Liaison
Act as liaion with PTO and SRMS administration and teachers pertaining to all school plays and musicals.
School Store
Manage and run the PTO School Store at SRMS. School store must be stocked and staffed sufficiently by this committee. Sales figures must be reported and monies given to the PTO Treasurer in a timely manner.
Self Esteem
Organize and provide photographs from each grade at various programs throughout the year. The committee will have a board displaying pictures from each grade that should be changed every other month to kjeep the photos fresh and interesting. The PTO has a budget to cover costs for photos and boards.

8th Grade:
Design, order and help sell school and Spirit Day T-shirts and school sportswear. Spirit Day T-shirts portion requires getting the enrollment number from the main office in August for team member count. Orders must be placed so that Spirit Day shirts are avaikablke for purchase when the school starts in September. Volunteers will need to be scheduled for the sale of the Spirit Day T-shirts. The Sportswear committee will be responsible for working with a vendor to supply the school. Items should be available for sale at the fall back-to-school nights. Additional supply can be ordered and delivered to the school for pick-up by students during the advisory period.
Student Coucil Liaison
Act as liaion between the SRMS PTO and the SRMS Student Coucil.
Sunshine Committee
Send notes and flowers as needed or directed throughout the school year. This will include celebration occasions such as birthdays, service anniversaries or any need for congratulatory wishes to SRMS teachers and staff members. This committee will also send get well wishes or condolences to staff and school families. The committee will be responsible for interactiing with the Administrative staff including the Principal and Guidance Counselors for needs and requests.

Work with gym teachers to organize the one-day event. In year's past, this committee has collected quarters from students who enter the race. The gym teachers usually organize the prizes, certificates and t-shirts for all students who participate.

UD Community Safety Council
This committee acts as the liaison between the SRMS PTO and the Safety Council. The committee is reponsible for attending scheduled meeting 2 or 3 times a year and updating the SRMS PTO as appropriate.

Volunteers
Responsible for reviewing the volunteer form from year to year and making any necessary changes. Forms then need to be included in the opening day packets sent home during the summer. The forms then need to be collected and condensed into lists for the various PTO committees. Email addresses must be included whenever possible. Any additional volunteer names and contact information should be forwarded to the appropriate committee chairperson throughout the year.
